Many English words are hard to pronounce because they contain letters that aren’t pronounced.

It’s usually best to learn the pronunciation of an English word by listening instead of reading.

After working as an English teacher for many years, I made a list of the words that I hear pronounced incorrectly most often by non-native English speakers.

It’s a very long list!
